PROJECT COORDINATOR

Position Summary:

Perform project related duties required by the District in its effort to oversee, implement, and complete the long-range facility development plan and related projects.

Essential Duties:
  • Coordinates project meetings, activities, schedules, transmittal of information, and District needs relative to the long-range facility plan and related OCMAPS.
  • Coordinates, attends, and prepares reports on project meetings; including those that are off-site and after hours as required.
  • Coordinates and ensure proper project review schedules and processes internally and with third parties.
  • Assists in the preparation and monitoring of project construction budgets.
  • Assists in the development of bid alternates to support District objectives.
  • Evaluates bids and make recommendations.
  • Ensures project compliance with Educational Specifications, Project Requirements Manuals, Program Implementation Plan, and other Board approved plans/documents/criteria.
  • Assists in the development and writing of Board agenda items and reports as needed to support project progress.
  • Writes technical reports, project status reports, meeting reports, and other reports or correspondence as directed.
  • Assists in verification of external reports and data.
  • Maintains documentation and project files relating to the area of work.
  • Assists in the coordination and reconciliation of project budget and expense records internally and with third parties.
  • Maintains confidentiality of internal records.
  • Observes the condition and operation of the physical facilities and report problem areas to the supervisor.
  • Promotes the overall effectiveness of the organization by performing tasks and sharing responsibilities of other members of the department/division during peak periods, or when there is an overload of duties, or a need to fill in when an individual is away from the workstation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum of four (4) years experience leading education institution and/or facility construction projects.
  • PMP or PMI certification preferred.
  • Possess a valid operator's driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Possess a working knowledge of, and ability to interpret, Board Policies and Administrative Regulations.
  • Possess a wide range of knowledge about the organizational structure of the school district, functions of the different divisions and departments, and directives issued by the Senior Facilities officer.
