Director of School Operations Talent
Role Mission: The Director of School Operations Talent is responsible for executing across the full human capital continuum for school-based operations staff at IDEA. The Director business partners with the VP of School Operations to ensure excellent recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, development, and evaluation of school operations staff. The Director supports school operations leaders in becoming excellent managers who lead high-performing, highly-satisfied teams of staff who remain at IDEA.
Accountabilities
85% retention of school operations staff
Establishes hiring practices to attract top performers for all roles, including screening exercises and interview protocols
Customizes onboarding by role to ensure all new team members are set up for success
Supports talent reviews
Establishes retention plan operating mechanisms for HQ leaders to regularly monitor data, identify trouble spots, and provide coaching to campus-based managers as necessary
Organizational health results of at least 83% agree/43% strongly agree for school operations staff
Ensures that the Staff Development Cycle occurs with fidelity within the timeline and with each school operations employee
Supports operations leaders in executing all phases of the Staff Development Cycle for every school operations team member
Develops and executes differentiated professional development to build leadership and management acumen
100% of Cafeteria Managers, Facilities Managers, and Transportation Managers are onboard by July 1
Ensures selection tools are high-quality and functional context experts are trained in selection best practices
Partners to create an internal marketing campaign to promote internal operations positions
80% of Cafeteria Managers, Facilities Managers, and Transportation Managers meet at least 80% of their goals
Creates and delivers high-quality training, with a focus on building leadership and management practices
Ensures best practices in adult learning are implemented for all school operations trainings
Supports development of Playbooks for these roles

Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree
- Experience: Teaching experience (preferred), designing and delivering training for adults (preferred)
Knowledge and Skills:
- Working knowledge of at least three aspects of the human capital continuum (recruitment, selection, onboarding, development, evaluation, career progression/pathways) with a deep knowledge in at least one aspect
- Record of achieving measurable goals and results
- Experience in the education field (preferred)
