Position: Head of School, work year 2018-2019

Salary:  $80,000-$115,000, negotiable, salary commensurate with experience and education – competitive with local market

Education Requirements:  MA or higher

Job Description/Summary

Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Head of School’s primary role is to lead Caprock Academy. This will be accomplished by implementing the Academy’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values. The Head of School will oversee the health and functioning of all components of the Academy on a day-to-day basis, including its academic integrity, physical environment, culture and morale and effectiveness of all members of the Academy including the students, faculty, staff, and parents. This will include adherence to the Academy’s Charter contract and working with its authorizer.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in management, supervision, and organizational skills
• Experience in business and finance
• Familiarity with principles of child, early adolescent, and educational psychology
• Demonstrated strong team leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
• Excellent communication abilities both written and oral
• Knowledge of Classical Education, the Core Knowledge Curriculum, and high school curriculum
• Experience in or knowledge of Charter schools or other independent educational institutions
• Experience in fund-raising, including the securing of donations and grant writing
• Professional principal license or eligible to obtain
