Primary Purpose

Works under the supervision of the principal and school auditor to collect, disburse, and control the
school funds in the manner prescribed by the standard operating procedures manual.

Qualifications

Education/Certification
High school diploma or GED certificate

Special Knowledge/Skills
• Passing scores on the District's clerical tests
• Knowledge in bookkeeping
• Knowledge in reconciling accounts and statements
• Knowledge in preparation of financial statements
• Knowledge in receipting and depositing money
• Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills

Experience
Three years related experience

Major Responsibilities and Duties

1. Writes receipts and deposits money collected in the areas of fund-raisers, yearbook, textbook, tuition,
and instructor rentals.

2. Prepares all disbursements for the school and maintains accurate records of such transactions.
3. Handles all financial correspondence.
4. Maintains up-to-date post lists in the journal and general ledger.
5. Prepares the monthly bank reconciliation and trial balance.
6. Maintains control of the treasury fund accounts and processes a report to the Central Office.
7. Provides the agency fund accounts with a monthly statement of receipts and disbursements.
8. Collects all returned checks.
9. Ensures that fund raising activities are completed in a timely manner and that a financial recap is

prepared for each activity.
10. Provides fund raising training to campus staff (coaches, directors, sponsors, etc.).
11. Maintains accurate record of all certificates of deposit and recalculates the interest earned on matured

securities.
12. Maintains a current cash balance to include all debit and credit memos.
13. Maintains an accurate record of all shop fees and inventories.
14. Maintains and follows a current standard operating procedures manual.
15. Generates and verifies requisitions for expenditure approval.
16. Produce a sales tax report by calculating tax owed from cash receipts.
17. Supplies postage and process school mail.
18. Coordinates the financial aspects of school sponsored athletic events.
