Job Title: Chief Quality Officer

Primary Purpose

Provide leadership, vision and technical expertise to ensure proper operational controls, administrative and reporting
procedures, and systems to operate the District effectively and efficiently.

Qualifications
Education/Certification

Master's Degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field
Six Sigma Certified or related certification

Special Knowledge/Skills

• Inspire, manage and collaborate with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to lead diverse District functions
• Advanced technical knowledge of school operations and effective management practices

• Ability to implement Six Sigma and/or similar process improvement systems

• Problem solving, critical thinking and conflict management skills

• Ability to manage budget and personnel

• Ability to collect, analyze and use multiple sources of data
• Strong organizational, communication, strategic planning and interpersonal skills

• Ability to work collaboratively to build consensus while also delivering exceptional results

Experience

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of District processes.
2. Acts as an internal consultant and resource to all levels of the organization relative to continuous

improvement processes and standards.
3. Collaborates with the Leadership team to develop and implement plans for the operational infrastructure of

systems, processes, technology integration, and personnel designed to efficiently operate the District.
4. Develop and implement District process improvement systems that utilize effective measurement and

analysis tools.
5. Provides District departments effective professional development on process improvement, focusing on

measurable outcomes.
6. Coaches process improvement teams that build capacity within the District.
7. Ensures integration of operational objectives Districtwide.
8. Develops training and/or improvement plans to ensure an optimum operation in the area of support

operations.
9. Develops long-and-short-range objectives and goals for support operations of the District.
10. Ensures support operations are aligned to instructional goals and objectives of the District.
11. Plans and conducts needs assessments for growth and improvement of the district support operations.
12. Prepares, reviews, and revises job descriptions to ensure alignment with District goals.
13. Makes sound recommendations for personnel placement, transfer, retention, and dismissal.
14. Provides leadership to achieve cost-effective practices throughout the District.
15. Ensures programs are cost-effective and funds are managed prudently to stay within budgeted guidelines.
16. Ensures preventive and proactive processes and systems are in place to ensure long-term success for support

operations.
17. Implements policies established by federal and state law, and local Board policy in the area of support

operations.
18. Provides day-to-day leadership and management of support operations that mirror adopted goals and

objectives of the District.
19. Provides timely, accurate and complete reports on the operating condition of the District.
20. Spearheads development, communication and implementation of effective process improvement.

21. Keeps the superintendent informed on support operations of the District.
22. Fosters trust in change process, making change more efficient and sustainable.
23. Demonstrates awareness of District/community needs and initiates activities to meet identified needs.
24. Demonstrates support for the District's student management policies and expected student behavior related

to operational aspects of the District.
25. Demonstrates a high level of professional and personal integrity, a collaborative leadership style, and high

ethical standards.
26. Develops professional skills appropriate to job assignment.
27. Promotes an organizational climate that is informative, timely, and responsive.
28. Maintains current knowledge and understanding of District policies.

Maintains emotional control under stress, repetitive hand motions and prolonged use of the computer. Frequent
Districtwide travel and occasional statewide travel; occasional prolonged and irregular hours.

226 days; salary to be established by the Board of Trustees
