Role Mission:

Talent Partners are the "go-to" person for all talent needs at the campus level. Talent Partners support principals around hiring, retention, and organizational health. They are also responsible for ensuring that candidates at IDEA have a positive experience throughout the hiring process, and supporting existing talent on our campuses through transfer and promotion processes.

This is accomplished through developing a deep understanding of each of their schools' culture and hiring needs and screening candidates accordingly and building relationships with existing employees on campuses to support retention and succession planning.

Accountabilities

1

100% of leaders, teachers and co-teachers are hired by the first day of school.
  • Train, coach, and support principals to implement an effective, efficient, and legal hiring process.
  • Engage in bi-weekly check-ins with principals to ensure a strong partnership and understanding of talent needs.
  • Communicate progress toward hiring goals to principals, information on the candidate pool, etc.
  • Identify trends in talent needs to match candidates to their best fit campus.
  • Review applications, video interviews, conduct phone interviews, etc. within 2 weeks of a candidate's application.
  • Ensure that final interviews are conducted within one week of a candidate being sent to a school, and a decision is communicated to a candidate within 1 week of their interview.
  • Partner with principals to ensure that they have a strong matriculation plan to ensure that 90% of offers are accepted.
  • Support principals with setting compensation and communicating about compensation and benefits with candidates in a compelling way.

98% of positions are filled within 3 weeks of their summer training date.
  • Determine initial hiring projections for each school by November 1 st based on any new positions.
  • Finalize projections based on retention conversations, contract statuses, etc. by February 1 st .
  • Set hiring benchmarks and align actions and plans to these benchmarks, with the first hire made by December 1 st .
  • Engage in regular check-ins and communication with principals, looping in regional leadership as needed to ensure that principals make timely decisions.
  • Efficiently screen candidates via application and video interview review, and phone interviews to effectively match candidates to vacancies.
  • Plan and execute hiring events to fill positions efficiently and get strong candidates in front of as many principals as possible.
  • Leverage administrative assistants and HR staff to monitor the hiring and on-boarding process of new hires.
  • Support and train campus lead team and administrative assistants on hiring processes and procedures.

Ensure at least 85% of IDEA teachers return to IDEA for the next year.
  • Track and review retention data to identify trends, communicate progress, and problem-solve with principals accordingly.
  • Identify campuses of concern (below 85% retention) and partner with principal to develop retention plans, leveraging regional and organizational leadership as needed.
  • Meet with every WTI teacher at your school by November 1 st either individually or through focus groups to learn more about their experience and provide retention support to individuals/schools based on learnings.
  • Execute Talent Reviews to assess the state of talent for the school, pipelines for the school and organization, and ensure that staff are receiving effective coaching.
  • Directly support teachers and lead team members who are considering other positions to understand their options and navigate transfer and promotion processes between campuses and to HQ roles through individual meetings, holding info sessions, offering office hours.
  • Communicate monthly staff departures and retention status per campus and region via email and school leader notes.

Support schools to build a strong culture to ensure that 80% of employees agree that IDEA is a great place to work.
  • Ensure that 90% of employees on your campuses complete their GPTW survey.
  • Analyze the GPTW survey to identify trends and determine campus-based strategy needs, leveraging regional leaders as needed.
  • Act as business partner and accountability partner to ensure that developed plans are executed.
  • Execute campus pulse-checks to engage directly with employees and solicit feedback for the school, compile trends based on these interactions, and develop a plan to support the school to drive progress in this area.

Support the recruitment of high-quality applicants so that we reach 100% of our recruitment and referral goals.

• Attend at least 5 external recruitment events per semester to support the regional Talent Recruiter.

• Execute on the internal referral campaign at their schools to ensure that each school and region meets their individual

• Ensure that candidates have a positive experience and efficient process throughout their application process at IDEA that makes them promoters of IDEA within their network.

• On a weekly basis communicate high-need vacancies and keep hiring trackers up to date.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 2+ years of K-12 teaching experience required
  • Familiarity with IDEA Public Schools, Teach For America, and our current region (Austin) preferred
