Position Summary
The Director of Accelerated Student Programs is responsible for the coordination and implementation of the middle and high school acceleration programs, including Dual Enrollment, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate. Providing leadership in the identification and authorization of school programs. Provide support to schools in the management of program requirements, professional development and recruitment. General policies of the program are reviewed and approved by the Deputy Superintendent of Schools and/or Superintendent. The Director of Accelerated Programs oversees the articulation of agreements between university partners for accelerated course offerings.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the general supervision and administration of the Deputy Superintendent of Schools (or Designee), the Assistant Director of Accelerated Programs will be responsible for the following:
SECURITY CLEARANCE

EXTERNAL APPLICANTS

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education
- Must possess and provide evidence of a minimum of a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution, Secondary Schools, or an equivalent agency.
- A copy of transcript(s) with degree conferred must accompany letter of interest.
- Graduate work beyond the Master’s Degree is preferred. Preparation may include systematic graduate study and competence in the following areas:
- Specialization in Educational Guidance and Counseling
- Systematic study in at least five of the following areas:
- Human development and behavior (behavioral sciences)
- Curriculum and Supervision
- Research techniques and procedures
- Group dynamics and procedures
- School-community relations
- Organization and administration of guidance services
- School Administration
Experience
- Must present evidence of a minimum of three (3) years of successful experience as an administrator and/or equivalent.
- Successful experience in the areas below:
- Diversified occupational background
- Participation in college planning and program development
- Leadership in professional organizations and activities for student acceleration
- Planning and implementation in accelerated programs
- Interpreting school programs to professional or lay groups.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the general supervision and administration of the Deputy Superintendent of Schools (or Designee), the Assistant Director of Accelerated Programs will be responsible for the following:
- Providing leadership in planning, organizing, conducting, implementing and evaluating comprehensive accelerated programs.
- Articulating and publicizing accelerated programs efforts to school district and community.
- Articulating the goals, objectives, activities, and expected outcomes of accelerated program services.
- Developing and implementing funded program components.
- Managing the operation of the Office of Accelerated Programs.
- Evaluating staff performance according to district policies and procedures as necessary.
- Coordinating and collaborating initiatives with other units in the school district.
- Seek and implement effective procedures for upgrading the skills and other professional development efforts districtwide.
- Prepare and maintain budgets within pre-determined limits
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned by the Deputy Superintendent of Schools (or Designee).
