Primary Function: Provides direct support to students with disabilities in the Summer 12-Month Program (Full Day)

Essential Duties:
  • Apply appropriate strategies to educate students with disabilities, in compliance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Engage students in meaningful learning activities.
  • Monitor student progress toward achievement of instructional goals in the IEP, FBA/BSP, and support the completion and end of program progress report summarizing performance towards goals.
  • Develop and nurture the emotional, cognitive, and social abilities of all students.
  • Implement research based classroom management strategies.
  • Respond to student behavior appropriately and successfully.
  • Demonstrate clear and accurate oral and written communication.
  • Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
  • Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.
  • Work cooperatively with staff, students, and parents.
  • Provides daily instruction in appropriate curriculum to students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrate effective classroom management strategies.
  • Implement student interventions as identified in the IEP and/or FBA/BSP.
  • Collect and input student data.
  • Maintain prompt and professional communication with staff, students, and parents.


Qualifications:
  • DE Paraprofessional Certificate
    • Requirements for Paraprofessional Certification
      • 60 or more college credits OR pass the ParaPro Test
      • Current PPD (tuberculosis) screening within the last 5 years
      • Current Criminal Background Check within the last 12-months
