    Note: These are probationary positions.
    8 hours per day, 185 days per year
    *Licensed staff new to Westmisnter Public Schools is contracted for 190 days the first year*

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
    *M.A .or M.S. in Communication Disorders and Speech Science
    *ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence desirable or ability to obtain one (CFY supervision available)
    *Possess a Colorado Special Services license in Speech-Language Pathology or obtain one prior to starting date
    *Be up to date on current identification, assessment, and treatment of communication disorders
    *Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills and relationships with students, parents, staff members, and administrators
    *Has knowledge and experience of and/or willingness to gain knowledge of Competency-Based approaches
    *Effective time management and organizational skills
    *Experience and/or skills working with culturally diverse populations desired
    *Must be able to read, write, and comprehend English
    *Demonstrated excellent communication skills (bilingual skills desired)

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
    *Identify students with communication disorders by completing communication assessments for referred students
    *Plan instruction and interventions to support focused students with communication disorders in the Learner Centered Classroom
    *Collaborate with interventionist team and levels teachers regarding student's communication needs
    *Implement a continuous system of progress monitoring and provide students with specific feedback
    *Establish an effective classroom management system for positive behavior supports when working with students individually, in small groups and/or in the classroom setting, per Board Policy and building regulations
    *Fulfill contractual and professional responsibilities
    *Member of IEP and Interventionist team
    *Development of integrated IEP planning and interventions for student access and achievement
    *Submit required and accurate paperwork for IEP meetings and Medicaid billing
    *Effective time management and organizational skills
    *Provide professional information (strategies) to support students, staff members, parents and administrators
    *Display a thorough knowledge of subject matter and District's prescribed curriculum
    *Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or Director of Special Services
