About Our Internship Program
The NWEA Summer Internship Program introduces outstanding Accounting/Finance students to NWEA's Finance group. Our Finance group serves in three major roles at NWEA: financial operations and supporting activities; financial performance management and measurement; and fiduciary stewardship of organizational resources.

What This Role Is All About:

The Accounting/Finance Student intern will provide day-to-day support to our accounts receivable, accounting and business operations teams that comprise our greater Financial group. We are looking for someone who is interested in learning about financial operations, enjoys both working with a team and working independently, and can switch gears working on a variety of tasks from solving intricate billing issues to administrative support. The summer is our peak season as it is the time most our partners renew their licenses. While the focus of the role is on accounts receivables, the intern will also support team members in other financial operations areas.

What You'll Do:

• Process orders and support the billing operations team in relationship to our customer's license renewals
• Support cash operations in processing customer payments and researching payment issues
• Help accurately balance source systems, payments and other accounting activities through review and reconciliation of various systems.
• Provide support for financial systems implementation, as needed, such as with data migration, or reconciliation of accounts
• Review and research out of balance conditions taking corrective action as needed.
• Create new training documents and updating existing process documentation for operational processes
• Provide support to the finance team in a wide range of scope from manual tasks such as filing to working on complex projects
• Maintain other financial reporting records as needed

What We Are Looking For:
• Currently studying or have completed a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite including Excel and comfortable with spreadsheets
• Eagerness to learn new software and technology
• Willingness to work hard with a keen attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Candidates who are excited about our educational company and being part of a tight-knit finance team
• Flexible and versatile; ability to handle wide range of tasks
• Previous job-related experience in finance or accounting is a plus

What We Are Offering You:
A paid summer internship, averaging 20 hours per week, with a range of $16 - $20 per hour, depending on prior experience.
Location, location, location. We are situated in the heart of Old Town and are just a few steps away from the Pearl and near major bus and MAX lines.
Experience and the opportunity to work with a great group of finance and accounting and professionals.
