Food Truck Supervisor

Position Summary:

Responsible for supervising food service operations within a food truck. Ensure all employees follow in house policies and procedures to meet all federal and state requirements to service students and faculty OKCPS district.

Essential Duties:
  • Prepares and serves foods and beverages in accordance with all federal, state, local and departmental policies.
  • Drives Food Truck to various predetermined locations to prepare food and serve students and faculty at onsite locations.
  • Assists with Food Truck scheduling.
  • Orders necessary food and supplies in accordance with approved departmental procedures based on recipes and menus.
  • Ensures the food truck is maintained in good operational condition.
  • Ensures the safety and security of the food truck, equipment and its resources.
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment which includes properly cleaning the mobile food truck space and all equipment including food truck exterior.
  • Participates in the training, development and mentoring of less experienced employees which includes ensuring food truck staff members follow proper sanitation procedures.
  • Communicates effectively with all OKCPS personnel, students and visitors.
  • Oversees the day-to-day operations within the food truck.
  • Plans and stocks truck for daily operations.
  • Maintains required records including food production, inventory, income/expense, meal counts and personnel records (i.e prepares, serve the food, and keeps records of supplies and purchases.).
  • Maintains the highest standards of personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Attends training courses as appropriate for continuous development of skills and successfully complete training certifications will be expected to meet additional USDA and/or Local guidelines for professional standards and certificate.
  • Promotes the overall effectiveness of the mobile food truck by performing all assigned tasks and sharing responsibilities of the mobile truck and supporting cafeteria team.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Required):
  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Valid ServSafe Certification.
  • Two (2) years' experience in a restaurant or institutional food service setting.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Three (3) year of driving a food truck, large passenger or utility van experience.
  • Knowledge of food preparation and presentation.
  • Possession of a valid operator's driver's license and acceptable driving record as determined to meet district motor vehicle insurance coverage requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to read, speak and write English; add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions and decimals. Employees may speak another language other than English in the work place as long as it does not interfere with job performance.
  • Ability to accurately count money.

Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and/or Abilities Preferred):
  • Work experience in higher education and/or food truck environment.
  • CDL license

  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 35 pounds, 50 pounds frequently with assistance ,75 pounds occasionally with assistance.
  • Job requires the use of both hands for repetitive actions involving simple/firm grasping and fine manipulation.
  • The employee is required to work in a confined space of a mobile food truck.
