Job Title: 2017-2018 MONTESSORI NOON HOUR AIDE - EARLY CHILDHOOD –

 (10 MONTHS – 30 HOURS PER WEEK)

Qualifications

Description:

Under the direction of the Principal/ Director of Montessori/designee, the Noon Hour Aide will provide general staff support.

Education:

Must possess and provide evidence of high school diploma or GED certification. Applicant must attach proof of education at time of submission of on-line application.

Experience:

Excellent customer service skills.

Must possess good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to exercise initiative, use good discretion and judgment, work as part of team, and work in a fast-paced environment with minimum direction.

Experience working with large groups of people, especially prekindergarten students preferred.

Excellent customer service and problem solving skills; ability to be flexible.

Good mediation and conflict resolution skills a plus.

Attendance:

Regular Attendance is critical; must have an exemplary attendance record.

Citizenship:

Must be able to verify whether U.S. citizen, resident alien, or otherwise authorized to accept employment in the U.S.

Physical Condition:

Must be physically able to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined with or without accommodations.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under the direction of the Principal/designee

Essential Functions:

Successful candidates must pass a pre-employment physical and, a security background clearance.

1. Provide coverage in the prekindergarten classroom and during lunch with minimum supervision.

2. Sit with the students for a family style meal to encourage conversation and discussions about the food

3. Prepare foods in serving containers for the students to serve themselves.

4. Support students as they set the table and as they clean up after the meal.

5. Demonstrated ability to work well with students.

6. Assist with escorting and monitoring students during lunch period and outside recess.

7. Assist students with setting cots out for rest-time.

8. Provide excellent customer service to students, staff, parents, visitors, and the community.

9. Clean the refrigerator weekly.

10. Rotate foods (using older foods first).

11. Clean and sanitize tables and food prep area.

12. Attend all city-wide in-service activities and sessions related to your job description;

13. Perform other relevant duties and assignment
