CMS Teaching Residents come from all around-from paraprofessionals and substitute teachers who work in our classrooms; to recent college graduates; to experienced professionals from other fields who want to help shape the next generation of leaders and innovators. They're united by three core values:
For the 2018-19 school year, we're recruiting for elementary grades and secondary math. The initial mandatory training will begin summer 2018. During this intensive six-week summer training program, you'll practice these skills in real classrooms under the guidance of experienced educators.
To be eligible for the Residency, you must hold a bachelor's degree for an accredited institution, meet all legal requirements to work in the United States, have a cumulative undergraduate GPA of at least 2.7/4.0 scale or equivalent, and plan to take all state-required certification tests.
Application process:
1. Online application
2. Virtual interview: Based on your application, you may be invited to a virtual interview.
3. Complete summer training
If you have questions about the Residency, feel free to contact us at cmsteachingresidency@tntp.org, or 980-343-5886.

*This is a CMS sponsored lateral entry teaching program in collaboration with TNTP. Teachers who already hold a teaching license or are enrolled in a teacher preparation program are not eligible to apply.
**Also, applicants who are interested in general lateral entry regardless of license type should apply directly to positions in which you are eligible if you meet NC's requirements for a lateral entry license.
