QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Master's degree from an accredited college or university.

New Jersey Principal Certificate or a Certificate of Eligibility for Principal.

Demonstrated successful building level administrative or supervisory experiences.

Demonstrated increasing student achievement and effective staff development, utilizing a variety of approaches that emphasize inclusion and acceptance.

DEFINITION: Under direction assists in the planning, organizing, and supervision of the day-to-day

operations of a school; provides leadership and assistance to teachers in the implementation of educational programs, activities, curriculum guidelines, and all other instructional objectives as defined by the Assistant Superintendent in charge; and performs all other related duties as required.

BASIC FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Acts as leader for curriculum development and coordinates all school programs.

Plans and organizes program goals and objectives, ensuring the implementation of the school's Operational Plan and budgets to support the plan.

Reviews all test data and plans instructional direction to ensure student achievement, with emphasis on the Core Curriculum Standards and the expectations of the state mandated tests.

Plans for the supervision and evaluation of all staff members.

Performs classroom observations and provides appropriate feedback to teachers.

Writes reports and submits to appropriate departments.

Organizes parent conferences and participates when needed.

Plans faculty and department meetings to ensure alignment to the school plan.

Develops a Professional Development Plan that provides training for staff members, based on the needs of the individual or school.

Confers with the Regional teams and Regional Superintendents on issues relative to schooloperations.

Interviews and recommends the appointment of teachers and other staff members for the school.

Performs related duties as required.
