Interpret and provide support for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in general education and special education classrooms and other situations as needed.
Responsibilities:
Interprete in classes as needed.
Assist classroom teacher(s) in classroom maintenance activities.
Physical assistant with students including lifting as needed.
When needed, designated health care procedures such as tube feeding, colostomy care, Clean-Intermittent-Catheterization (CIC) suctioning, or administration of medication following instruction/training by the school district nurse. Must also obtain CPR and first aide certification within first few months of employment.
Be available to interpret in extra curricular activities, if necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
Although initially assigned to support a particular Special Education Program, you may be asked to work with students of any disability in other buildings.
