POSITION SUMMARY

The position of Manager of Enterprise Solutions is for the purpose of administering the District's enterprise systems. These include the student information system (SIS) to ensure its effective use in improving student achievement.

This position represents the single focal point in the district for all of the District's enterprise system management, including policies, systems, and procedures, security and administration. The Manager, Enterprise Solutions (MES) must have proven leadership skills in planning and workload allocations, directing, mentoring and leading team members, as well as managing the performance of the team. The MES must also establish effective communication with business, operations and educational managers within the District. This is a 'working' management position, roughly 70% technical, 30% managerial. The MES must supervise technical staff, all activities, must be able to accomplish managerial tasks, and possess the necessary skills to accomplish a variety of technical tasks and be the lead expert in the student information system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. This list is meant to be representative, not exhaustive. • Manages the day to day operations of enterprise technology systems (Student Information System, Hoonuit, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring an effective operation for all end users
• Ensures the student data stored in the SIS is accurate, accessible, and conforms to district data standards. Manages and trains staff on the confidentiality of student records.
• Works with staff across the district to establish standards for student data, business practices, processes and procedures
• Participates as a team member and fully supports efforts of the IT Leadership Team for the purpose of building a strong department team that supports district mission and strategic plan.
• Supports and works directly with other upper level administrators for the purpose of collaborating with these administrators in achievement of department, program and organizational goals.
• Participates in the development of the district's multi-year technology plan for the purpose of effective and timely technology solutions for the district.
• Develops long and short-range plans in relation to the District's enterprise systems (e.g. policies, procedures, staffing, budgets, materials, equipment, space requirements, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring organizational objectives are achieved in the most efficient and timely manner.
• Supervises technical staff
• Works with staff to manage and coordinate federal and state reporting
• Manages and coordinates upgrades and the implementation of new features
• Works collaboratively to proactively identify areas for improvement and enhancement
• Ensures that an exceptional level of customer service is provided by team
• Monitors feedback and support ticket requests
• Develops training programs and materials on the functions, capabilities and troubleshooting techniques for enterprise systems.
• Develops and maintains technical documentation related to system functions and responsibilities
• Oversees the development of reports and the integration of third party software applications
• Monitors database activities and performance for the purpose of ensuring the security and reliable operation of district databases
• Manages technology vendor relationships and service agreements for acquiring equipment and software that enables district mission, vision, and goals.
• Develops and manages budget and technology procurement and deployment for the purpose of ensuring effective use of district funds.
• Facilitates communication among department staff and district staff, for the purpose of evaluating situations, identifying appropriate actions, and/or developing recommendations.
• Responds to inquiries of staff, district personnel, other professional organizations, etc. for the purpose of providing information and/or direction as may be required.
• Participates in a wide variety of meetings as required (e.g. workshops, district, regional, and statewide committees, community and public agencies, seminars, conferences, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information regarding a wide variety of subjects required to carry out administrative responsibilities.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in information management, computer science, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of eight (8) years of:
o relevant experience is required
o management experience in a K-12 educational institution or a commercial organization with a variety of complex enterprise level systems;
• Progressively more responsible experience managing individuals and teams of both technical/engineering and educationally focused people;
• Experience in system management, systems thinking, monitoring, forecasting, planning, implementing, and troubleshooting;
• Must be able to effectively identify peak load issues and have experience in effective load balancing.
• Understanding of current K-12 educational and administrative practices as they relate to, and are supported by server technologies;
• Ability to work individually and as a management team member in a deadline and results- oriented environment
• Ability to assesses and assure system security;
• Ability to manage significant projects and to deliver solutions that meet customer requirements and resource constraints;
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Comfort and effectiveness in presenting complex information to non-technical audiences;

KNOWLEDGE OF:
Understanding and practical experience in managing enterprise level systems (student information systems, data warehouses, database platforms, etc.)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in indoor conditions and regularly works near video display. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The position constantly deals with frequent interruptions, some deadlines, and occasionally deals with angry and distraught employees and community members.

WORK SCHEDULE
Work schedule typically is Monday through Friday, day shift or as otherwise determined by the District.
