Employment Type : Temp
Category : Product Engineering
Job Title : Performance Test Engineer
Location : Portland, OR
Who you are...
You're passionate about Quality Assurance and see it as an integral piece in the SDLC. Instead of just focusing on locating the bugs of an application, you look at the entire workflow for ways to increase performance.
Testing complex applications can be daunting, so you look to speed up the QA process by automating what you can. You're proficient with Python, and you've worked with either JMeter or SOASTA in previous positions.
You're highly organized and manage your time well. You prefer to work in a collaborative team setting over being a solo contributor.
Must haves...
• Experience creating workflows
• Experience developing scripts in either JMeter or SOASTA
• Scripting experience with Python
• Previous experience testing web applications
Traits for Success...
• Needs to be comfortable working in a collaborative environment
• Good communication skills
• Able to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to multi-task efficiently
Education and Experience...
• 2-4 years as a Performance Engineer
• Minimum B.S. degree in computer science or a related field; or equivalent work experience and/or education in lieu of a degree
About the Product Engineering Team....
Comprised of nearly 200 professionals, NWEA's Product Engineering team offers our employees the ability to work with cutting-edge technologies, on a platform that has one of the highest concurrency applications in the Portland Metro area, that assesses nearly 10 million students annually across the world.
Our Product Engineering group is made up of large-scale teams focused across many tech fields like infrastructure, applications engineering, business analysis, operations, QA, and solutions delivery.
About us....
Founded by educators nearly 40 years ago, NWEA™ is a global not-for-profit educational services organization known for our flagship interim assessment, Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP®).
More than 7,400 partners in U.S. schools, districts, education agencies, and international schools trust us to offer pre-kindergarten through grade 12 assessments that accurately measure student growth and learning needs, professional development that fosters educators' ability to accelerate student learning, and research that supports assessment validity and data interpretation.
