Summary
Performs many complex and important clerical operations requiring the exercise of judgment based upon knowledge gained through experience. Make decisions in accordance with established policies. Responsible for finality of action, but more difficult and important work is performed under close supervision.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Assumes the duties of the school secretary during her absenceReceives visitors and directs the flow of traffic to persons involvedAnswers the telephone and route callsReceives mail where applicable or its equivalentTypes various kinds of reportsHandles correspondence referred by the administrator(s)Assists administrator with preparing expulsion folders for hearingsMaintains a filing systemMaintains proper use of equipmentAssists the Executive School Secretary in day to day duties as neededPerforms other duties as directed by the school principal/site administrator(s)

  • Checks students in and out of schoolManages and maintains student attendance recordsMakes phone calls to parents/guardian at home
·Administers (upon completion of training) medication under the supervision per physician orders and parental consent
  • Administers first aid careInforms students of bus assignments

  • Assists with processing of booksAssists in writing order slips for new booksAssist in keeping school accountsManages and maintains student recordsSchedules parent/teacher student counselor conferences

    Qualifications: High School education or its equivalent. Good knowledge of modern office practices and procedures and of business English and math. Ability to establish and maintain satisfactory
    working relationship with school staff and with the public. Effective use of business and/or computer software including the ability to type 25 words per minute.
