K12 is seeking a Writer/Editor to join the Marketing Editorial team. The Writer/Editor expertly writes a variety of editorial/advertising/marketing copy for a range of marketing channels and audiences as well as strategic, response-oriented content in a fast-paced environment. The position works closely with internal clients to understand and add value to projects.

• Writes and edits direct-to-consumer copy for online and in-print assets for a variety of audiences and channels, e.g., email, banners/digital marketing taglines, web copy, social media, brochures, flyers, etc.

• Develops strategically on-target, response-oriented communications employing an effective level of writing as well as correct grammar, usage, and spelling; writes a variety of short-form and more sustained, longer form pieces

• Works collaboratively with group leaders and fellow team members to develop compelling ideas, concepts, and campaigns; works closely with marketing teams and internal clients to understand and add value to project requirements

• Processes a high volume of work efficiently while maintaining quality using production and project management interfaces • Has the ability to edit peer's copy to help ensure clarity, accuracy, and message impact

• Has a level of familiarity with digital best practices and skills, including knowledge of SEO and usability

• Possesses excellent interpersonal communications skills and ability to engage with internal and external partners for content promotion efforts

Requirements
JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's Degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or related field AND

• 5 years of writing/editing experience in advertising or marketing

• Business-to-consumer copy/content experience is preferred, as is educational market background

OTHER REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

• Thorough understanding of standard copy editing skills

• Ability to meet tight deadlines with grace under pressure

• Strong commitment to deliver error-free work

• Superior attention to detail while balancing multiple projects

• Flexibility, adaptability, and excellent interpersonal/collaborative skills

• Ability to process creative output as well as workflow via production and project management interfaces

• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word

• Familiarity with PowerPoint and Excel

• Experience with or ability to work within specialized interfaces, such as content management systems
