Title:
Operations Manager
REPORTS TO:
Principal/Director
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under the direct supervision of the Principal/Director, coordinates and provides support to the School Community and serves as administrative coordinator for special projects, including, planning, development and execution. Assist in presentations and the overall management of the school operational functions.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Plans and coordinates recruitment and Professional Development.
2. Develops communication channels to ensure that the school is informed from all offices regarding Information Technology, Finance, Payroll, Talent Office, and Buildings and Grounds.
3. Assists in preparation of reports and dissemination materials to State Department of Education, City of New London, Board of Education and other entities as needed.
4. Represents New London Public Schools at events and meetings as requested.
5. Facilitates the coordination of activities among the various operational departments (i.e. facilities, food services, transportation, etc.) and with principals, directors, parents and community groups.
6. Assists Principal/Director in gathering information, planning and implementing programs and events.
7. Provides Principal/Director and staff with information pertinent to student assignments, records management & operations.
8. Responds to concerns raised by parents.
9. Works as a team member to ensure continuity, coordination and efficiency of all initiatives and resources.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal/Director
PREFERRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Degree preferred.
2. Five years of experience in administration/management.
3. Knowledge of office practices including protocol with other agencies.
4. Knowledge/experience in project planning, development & implementation.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience in grant writing, report
writing, data collection and data analysis.
6. Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Windows, Excel & ability to learn Powerschool.
7. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced work environment and to work a flexible schedule.
8. Must be well organized and have strong attention to details.
9. Must have excellent communication, organization and time management skills.
10. Experience with budget/cost analysis.
11. Experience with marketing demographics.
10. Ability to work under stress and within difficult time constraints.
