Eagle County School District is a high performing district located in one of the most beautiful areas of Colorado.  The district comprises communities from Vail to Dotsero including Minturn, Avon, Edwards, Eagle and Gypsum.  Vail and Beaver Creek ski resorts are located within the district.  The region provides many educational opportunities as well as an abundance of family-oriented recreational activities.  These opportunities have resulted in rapidly growing communities including immigrant populations.

The District serves a diverse population of 7,000 students (PreK-12) in four high schools, three middle schools, nine elementary schools as well as a charter, online learning, PreK-8 and early college high schools.  The district has 35% English language learners, and 42% of students are on a free or reduced lunch program.  The district does struggle with achievement gap inequities. Last fall the voters of the district approved a $144 million dollar bond election

In order to continue the District’s effort to benchmark against international top performing schools and to model their practices, the Board of Education has approved a well-defined, data driven strategic plan.  As the Board continues to implement their strategic plan and to address the pressing needs of the District, the Board is seeking a dynamic, collaborative leader with strong communication skills who also has a background of educational success working with a diverse population.
