Plum Creek Academy - Dual Diagnosis Teacher Long Term Substitute Opportunity

12/1/17- 5/25/18

Plum Creek Academy is searching for a qualified Dual Diagnosis Teacher ( ie. Severe Needs with experience in behavior management and Autism) substitute teacher. All qualified applicants must hold a valid Initial or Professional Colorado teaching license and a Special Education Endorsement. In certain circumstances applicants must also have passed an approved Education Content Area Assessment (PLACE or PRAXIS) or passed Colorado's Elementary HOUSSE provision. Candidates must be experienced in best practices for severe needs special education students including remedial academics and behavior management, work well as a team member, understand the importance of quality and consistent data collection, take direction from other certified team members and administrators, experience with Autism and best practices for Autism highly preferred, must have current certification for CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention), must understand the importance of following and implementing an IEP and Behavior Intervention Plan, must demonstrate an empathetic disposition for severe needs students and demonstrate patience while meeting high educational expectations for all students.

Responsibilities:
To become a long term substitute teacher for Douglas County School District, please upload:
  • Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE)Teaching License, or 5-Year Substitute Authorization
  • Three (3) professional references, minimum of (1) supervisor, include name, phone number and an e-mail address for each reference (if not currently in DCSD Sub Pool).
  • Official Transcripts (required for possible HQ verification)
  • Passing results for any PLACE or PRAXIS tests taken (required for possible HQ verification)
