The United Schools Network (USN) is a nonprofit organization in Columbus, Ohio, that starts and manages urban public charter schools that close the achievement gap. The network includes two high-performing middle schools, a high-performing elementary school, and is launching a second elementary school in the fall of 2017. We are seeking a Talent Associate to join our Network.

    Our Students and Results
      Admission is open to all students; academic proficiency is not considered during the admissions process. In 2017-2018, USN schools will serve students in grades K-4 and 6-8. 75% of our students are students of color and 90% are economically disadvantaged. USN 8 th graders regularly gain acceptance to the top high school programs in the city.

    United Schools Network will consider hiring a full-time Talent Associate who:

    Leadership Skills and Characteristics

    • Works collaboratively with the leadership team and instructional staff to support the needs of all families.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Effectively and efficiently manage the candidate application process, internal application review, and phone interview processes with candidates.
    • Works with the Talent Director to research advertising mediums for posting open positions and place advertisements accordingly.
    • Effectively articulate benefits and merits of working for United Schools Network to candidates.
    • Under the direction of senior staff members, contribute to the development of talent pipelines.
    • Works with hiring managers and other team members to determine staffing needs across the network.
    • Manages content and communication strategy that incorporates traditional and nontraditional resources (career fairs, referrals, social media, etc.) to identify and attract highly qualified and diverse talent.
    • Plans, markets, and leads successful recruitment events (job fairs, open house, etc.).
    • Assists with communication, collection, and organization of important on-boarding documents for new hires.
    • Actively reviews data accumulated concerning the recruitment lifecycle to make recommendations for improvement.

    Experience & Qualifications
    United Schools Network will consider hiring a full-time Talent Associate who:
    • Has strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with team members.
    • Is results-driven, with commitment to data excellence and the use of data, combined with critical thinking skills.
    • Has the capacity to excel working with a team as well as independently, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment with emotional constancy.
    • Is open to feedback, has a willingness to take personal responsibility for the affairs of the network, and the ability to learn from one's mistakes.
    • Values continuous improvement both for self and organization.
    • Has personal and professional integrity.
    • Demonstrates personal commitment to and enthusiasm for USN's mission.
    • Bachelor's degree; 1-2 years' experience in talent recruitment, selection, and/or marketing experience.
    • Has technological proficiency in Google, talent sourcing software/sites, and/or applicant tracking systems.


    Terms of Employment
