TITLE of POSITION: Security Guard - Substitute

DESCRIPTION of POSITION:

The Security Guard shall be directly responsible to the Director of Materials Management. He/she shall protect students, employees and visitors in and around District 189 properties and maintain peace and order. He/she shall also prevent visitors, intruders, trespassers, vandals and employees from committing acts against regulations or laws of District 189.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

Be directly responsible to the Director of Materials Management.

Act with firmness and sufficient energy when handling violators in performing duties.

Investigate vandalism or other matters requiring attention and make a written report in detail immediately or the next day to the Director of Personnel for appropriate action.

Attend in-service workshops set forth by the Board of Education or the Director of Materials Management.

Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Materials Management.

REQUIRMENTS:

High School Diploma / GED preferred

Experience in a similar position preferred
