QUALIFICATIONS :
Candidates must hold a valid General Education and/or Special Education New York certificate i n grades 1-8 core and be currently employed with the Buffalo Public Schools as a tenured, probationary or temporary teacher. Candidates must be willing to work 5 days a week, Monday - Friday for two hours a day. School 89's after school program runs October 18 , 2017 - May 24, 2018. Program hours are 4:00 - 6:00 pm.

Teachers will create lesson plans and utilize the curriculum provided to them, as well as supplement as needed with supervisors' approval. Teachers are expected to provide support & positive interaction with students, administer pre and post assessments, maintain attendance, and as needed, communicate and provide information to parents on the progress of their child.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Teachers will work under the supervision of the Building Administration:
  • Instructing students on grade level coursework using differentiated strategies and approaches effective in working with students in need of academic supports.
  • Provide instruction to students in Grades 1 - 8 according to CCLS.
  • Prepare lessons for students using curriculum provided by school administrator.
  • Outside planning time will be necessary.
  • Teachers will be required to work a minimum of two hours a day, 5 days a week (Monday - Friday).
  • Attend mandatory program training after school.

Appointment will be made by the building principals who will select the candidates that best match the recruitment bulletin and the after-school program description.
