Job Summary:
Provides technical, administrative, and/or instructional support in the planning, development, or administration of academic or instructional programs, school based administration, or student support programs. Functions as an educational professional with a focus on facilitating Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) initiatives, providing professional guidance and support to staff or teachers, or ensuring the appropriate conduct, implementation, or delivery of inclusive academic programs at the school or specific program level. This is a grant funded position that expires June 30, 2016.

Essential Functions:
• Collaborates and plans with school staff to ensure equal access to the core curriculum for all students.
• Assists teachers with the development and implementation of flexible instructional delivery and interventions for all levels of learners.
• Observes, coaches and mentors teachers, providing feedback regarding all aspects of academics: instruction, classroom management, and classroom environment.
• Plans, organizes and executes site-based workshops and job-embedded professional development training.
• Implements techniques that include instructional and behavioral modeling, classroom observations, coaching, and feedback.
• Reviews, monitors and audits instructional processes to ensure compliance with federal, state and district policies, regulations, and guidelines.
• Analyzes, interprets, and shares data with staff; leads data reflection dialogues with instructional staff and facilitates study groups on core content areas and behavior management strategies.
• Assists site instructional leaders, school site councils, and leadership teams to plan, develop, monitor, and evaluate school level academic programs and interventions.
• Assists teachers and administration in assessing student progress and attainment of grade level standards.
• Serves as a resource in the organization, development, and preparation of the master/intervention schedules at the school sites.
• Participates in grade level and collaborative planning meetings.
• Attends required coaching trainings and professional development.
• Coordinates the implementation of teacher development opportunities in City Schools.
• Cultivates the skills of facilitators by providing advanced opportunities to learn strategies and skills for working with adults.
• Develops and shares reports that detail the progress of teacher development initiatives as they relate to teacher effectiveness and MTSS.
• Works collaboratively with schools and multiple central offices to increase teacher effectiveness and provide professional development.
• Performs and promotes all activities in compliance with equal employment and nondiscrimination policies; follows federal laws, state laws, school board policies and professional standards.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in education or related field from an accredited college or university; Master's degree preferred
• Maryland State Department of Education Standard Professional Certificate or Advanced Professional Certificate
• 4 years of successful teaching experience
• Strong organizational and strategic planning skills, and efficiency in meeting deadlines
• Exemplary interpersonal skills
• Knowledge of current research in teacher professional development and improving teacher effectiveness
• Experience facilitating teams and supporting results oriented goals;
• Experience presenting and working with adults;
• Ability and desire to motivate adult learners to improve professional practice;
• Experience developing and delivering district wide professional development to teachers in urban school settings
• Extensive knowledge of online course design and best practices in adult learning theory
• Ability to work with multiple consultants and facilitators and to set and adhere to solid expectations and tight deadlines
• Experience coordinating large scale projects across multiple schools or district offices
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make persuasive presentations
• Interpersonal skills that ensure effective teambuilding and understanding for the team process
• Skilled in interpreting, understanding, and applying data
• Proficient in the use of multiple computer applications including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, PD Tracking and reporting software, databases, and Online Professional Learning software
