POSITION SUMMARY
The Emergency Management Compliance Manager provides leadership in the development of a robust and comprehensive Homeland Security program and Emergency Management activities; develops policy and procedures for emergencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Requirements: EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Valid Georgia Driver's License; completion of NIMS course work ISC-100, 200, 300 and 400; IS-700, IS-800 and Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) required
WORK EXPERIENCE: 4 years of experience in emergency management in a school district, hospital, or other government agency; supervisory and managerial experience required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Written and oral communication; listening;
Knowledge of Homeland Security/FEMA/GEMA, state, county, and municipal requirements related to emergency management;
Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft applications or MS Office Suite;
Decision making; leadership; supervisory; analytical and problem solving; critical thinking; sound judgment; ability to adapt; organization
Compensation: Salary Grade: 133
Salary Range: $75, 798 to $104, 223

POSITION SUMMARY
The Emergency Management Compliance Manager provides leadership in the development of a robust and comprehensive Homeland Security program and Emergency Management activities; develops policy and procedures for emergencies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Provide assistance, advice, and support to the Security Operations Director for administrative policies and procedures that relate to the development of activities associated with crisis management, emergency preparedness, and incident response.
- Coordinate all administrative, operations, communications, and response activities associated with emergency management.
- Develop a comprehensive crisis response and emergency management plan for schools and administrative buildings; perform the technical work related to the planning, development, and implementation of the district crisis response and emergency management program.
- Engage in strategic planning exercises and leads the mitigation, preparedness, and response and recovery efforts; assist with the implementation of public awareness and training programs as they relate to emergency management activities.
- Develop applicable training curriculum for target populations - students, employees, parents, senior leadership, etc.
- Serve as the lead liaison between local first responders and state and federal officials to coordinate drills and exercises for the district; assume responsibility for processing reports in accordance with state and federal guidelines; coordinate correspondence and initiates/responds to telephone calls and emails; coordinates emergency notification and public alerts services providing emergency and disaster information.
- Assist other department officials with developing emergency response plans and training activities; attend meetings on Homeland Security and emergency management issues; in his/her absence, represent the Director as the subject matter expert.
- Design, conduct, and assess emergency management tabletop, functional, and full-scale exercises.
- Develop, maintain, and update resource tracking and mobilization process in accordance with the latest National Incident Management Systems (NIMS) guidelines and procedures.
- Develop and maintain the emergency operations manual for the district; ensure compliance with NIMS.
- Develop and promote cooperation and assistance agreements and memorandums of understanding among various local, regional, and state organizations that may be utilized in times of an emergency or disaster.
- Monitor weather and other emergency incidents; keep Director informed of incidents in order to make sound decisions regarding school delays, closures, early dismissals, etc.
- Ensure schools are in compliance with standard operating procedures and applicable laws that govern drill exercises; provide consultation and technical assistance to schools in developing safety plans.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor to include working flexible hours, evenings, staggered shifts, rotating schedules, holidays, weekends, and in emergency situations.
