TITLE:FOOD SERVICE FIELD SUPERVISOR
Position Description: The food service field manager is responsible for assisting the Supervisor of School Food Services in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the system-wide school food service program. The food service field manager is directly responsible to the Supervisor of School Food Services.

Essential Functions:

Assists Supervisor of School Food Services with total food service program.

Assists in training and evaluating food service personnel.

Assists in preparation of records and reports.

Assists in menu planning and verification of nutritional integrity.

Takes charge in the absence of Supervisor of School Food Services or cafeteria managers.

Attends meetings and conferences to learn new ideas and practices in school food service.

Coordinates and supervises special functions.

Performs other related duties as requested.

Performance Requirements:

Demonstrates and understanding of the job tasks.

Possesses thorough knowledge of large quantity food preparation and menu planning to meet USDA mandates.

Possesses thorough knowledge of sanitation and health department rules and regulations.

Demonstrates the ability to supervise and train subordinates.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Three years experience in school food service.

Current VA drivers license.

Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

Ability to travel.

Understanding of food service handling hazards.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

SALARY: Commensurate with years of experience

CONTRACT LENGTH: 260 Days
