Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated ENL Teacher to join our team and support English Language Learners (ELLs) in achieving academic success. The ENL Teacher will work closely with co-teachers and support staff to ensure that ELL students receive high-quality, differentiated instruction that aligns with both their language acquisition needs and academic goals. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with diverse learners and a strong commitment to equity and inclusion.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized and group instruction that fosters English language acquisition and proficiency.
- Collaborate with general education teachers to co-plan and co-teach in an integrated ENL setting.
- Design lessons and assessments aligned with Common Core Learning Standards and New York State ENL Standards.
- Provide targeted support for ELL students to meet their academic goals in core content areas.
- Track and assess student progress, utilizing formative and summative assessments to inform instruction.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and ways to support language development at home.
- NYS Certification in English as a New Language (ENL) or English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) is required.
- Master's Degree in Education or related field, preferred.
- Prior experience working with ELLs in a high school setting, strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of language acquisition theories, culturally responsive pedagogy, and differentiation strategies.
- Demonstrated success working in non-traditional and/or urban school settings.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families.
- Experience with educational technology (SMARTBoard, Student Laptops, etc.)
- Commitment to social justice and equity in education.
