Job Summary
The Department of Research, Assessment, and Evaluation is committed to supporting Metro Nashville Public Schools measure the impacts of district and school policies and practices and make data informed decisions. To help meet this commitment, the Program Evaluation Analyst will be responsible for conducting evaluations of key initiatives and programs. In addition, the analyst will assist district staff in interpreting and utilizing results for decision-making and planning.

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline. In addition, the analyst will assist district staff in interpreting and utilizing results for decision-making and planning.
What you will do
- Designs and conducts methodologically sound evaluations of designated initiatives and programs.
- Utilizes existing data and identifies and/or develops instruments, tools, and strategies to collect additional data necessary to evaluate programs' effectiveness, including but not limited to questionnaires, assessments, focus groups, and interview protocols.
- Organizes, analyzes, interprets, synthesizes and summarizes data from evaluation studies and clearly communicates findings to various stakeholders through oral and/or written reports.
- Trains District and school leadership and staff in utilizing data to sustain the impact of funds past the grant period.
- Assists in developing, managing and maintaining quality of longitudinal databases essential to the evaluation of initiatives.
- Assists in federally mandated reporting as appropriate and required.
- Master's Degree in relevant field Required
- Experience working in public education and/or with education data is Preferred
- The Data Analyst must be comfortable writing code to clean and analyze large, complex data sets using statistical software, e.g. SPSS (preferred), Stata, or R.
- Familiarity with Excel (including macros) and Power BI (or similar software) is a plus.
- Superior attention to detail is essential.
