DEFINITION
Under general supervision, provides computer support to technology users.Installs, maintains and repairs computer hardware, software and network equipment for Somerton School District No. 11.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

TASKS
Installs new equipment and software and upgrades as needed. Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs computers/mobile devices hardware and software to assist users. Troubleshoots network problems. Isolates problems. Performs repairs. Monitors and performs preventative maintenance on computers and related peripheral equipment. Tests cables and other equipment as needed. Configures computers, mobile devices and peripheral hardware to established specifications. Makes adjustments to specifications as needed by users. Tracks and installs software and hardware updates. Installs and configures network printers. Connects users to the network. Assigns and maintains a database of IP addresses and related information. Maintains electronic and diagnostic tools, service manuals and an inventory of parts and supplies. Sets up and arranges for computer related equipment for special programs and meetings. Assigns equipment to classrooms. Responds to user questions on hardware, software and related equipment. Performs related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
Knowledge of current technology trends and related hardware and software. Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques and methods. Knowledge of computer hardware and software. Knowledge of diagnostic equipment, tools and service manuals. Knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques and methods for computers and peripheral equipment. Skill in maintaining and troubleshooting computer and mobile devices and hardware and software. Skill in assisting users with problem determination and resolution. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Skill in diagnosing and repairing computer and mobile devices system problems. Skill in following oral and written instructions. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is performed in an indoor environment. Work requires frequent standing, walking, sitting, bending and lifting up to 80 pounds. May be exposed to dangerous machinery, equipment, heights and enclosed spaces.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Cyber security or related area. Three (3) years computer and network maintenance experience preferred. Must possess a valid Arizona driver license. May be required to possess or obtain Apple Service Certification. Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District. Apple experience is preferred. Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) required at the time of hiring.
