Job Description

Major Responsibilities
- Assist in working with and onboarding transportation partners, managing the daily trips and assisting parents and districts to take care of their needs
- Daily customer management to include but not limited to day-to-day operations, new client start-ups, client retention, and development
- Assist in capturing new business opportunities with current customers and new clients. Work with internal staff on completing proposals and negotiating with customers
- Acquire and manage staff equipment and any items required to perform trips (i.e: driver/staff badges, business cards, etc.)
- Monitor any new legislations affecting alternative student transportation. Assist team with implementing new legislations.
- Daily customer management to include but not limited to day-to-day operations, new client start-ups, client retention, and development.
- Will be required to assist in finding, onboarding, and developing ongoing relationships with local and national transportation providers.
- During school year startup, it will be required to communicate and negotiate proposed routes with local service providers.
- Assist in capturing new business opportunities with current customers and new clients. Work with internal staff on completing proposals and negotiating with customers.
- Responsible for overseeing and ensuring that accounts are running efficiently, and customer service levels are managed to client expectations.
- Oversee vehicle maintenance and compliance along with managing a large driver and transportation partner pool.
- Work in collaboration with internal departments to execute reports and programs to improve service quality, reduce costs, and increase service productivity.
- Maintain a safe and efficient environment for our passengers, contractors, and non-riding public by managing regulatory and client policies and procedures.
- Follow all First Student policies and procedures while providing the best customers service to our clients.
- Use effective industry skills and abilities to support and grow daily transportation operations.
- Must be able to learn and utilize technical skills to create reports, SOP's, and assist in formulating standard practices within FirstAlt.
- Duties and responsibilities are not limited to above descriptions and can be modified or changed at the discretion of Management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the field's policies, procedures, and practices. Performs complex tasks. Leads and directs the work of other employees. Has full authority for personnel decisions and may have some impact on departmental budgeting, planning, and procedural change. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or years of experience.
- Management skills. Strategic thinking skills. Oral and written communication skills. Ability to influence others. Decision-making skills.
