Job Summary
Employees in this position complete assigned pre and post audits during each bi-weekly payroll making corrections or adjustments as necessary, complete timesheet/payroll documentation for certain supplemental pay, perform calculations and entries to ensure employees due retroactive pay are compensated correctly, may assist in creating content and provide training for timekeepers, provides information for creating employee understanding documents, may assist in creating and update multiple work schedule calendars, may assist in creating and update toolkits for use by timekeepers for stipends and supplements.

What you will do
  • Audits assigned employee data prior to finalization/submission of each bi-weekly payroll. Identifies, requests or makes necessary changes to help ensure employees are compensated at the correct rate/hours and not over or underpaid. Acts as a liaison with the Employee Resource Center to ensure employee data errors are correctly reconciled.
  • Completes assigned supplemental pay timesheets for each bi-weekly pay period (i.e., substitutes, coaches, sponsors, etc.)
  • Performs complex calculations to ensure that employees who are due retroactive pay or other lump sum payments are compensated correctly.
  • May assist in creating training content for new timekeepers and annual timekeeper training across the district. Provides information for creation and updating of employee understanding documents.
  • May assist in creating and updating annual work schedule calendars and pay schedules for each work schedule in the district.
  • May assist in creating and updating toolkits for use by timekeepers for stipends and supplements.
  • Assists employees in understanding their compensation.
  • Performs other medium to high level compensation audit work or training assistance to district staff as necessary.
Education Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree Business, Accounting, Human Resources or related field Preferred
Experience Qualifications
  • 1-3 years Experience working in payroll or accounting for a large organization using enterprise software (i.e., Kronos, Oracle, ADP, etc.) and a working knowledge of wage and hour law Preferred
Skills and Abilities
  • Medium to high level skill in Excel, aptitude for medium-level mathematical computation, ability to create materials and information that helps employees understand complex calculations.
Starting At: $25.49

Salaries are determined by factors relevant to the position which may include education, experience, and other qualifications. Final compensation decisions are made at the discretion of MNPS in alignment with organizational policies and procedures. The stated salary range for certificated teaching positions is calculated based on 201 days and should be viewed as a reference. All provided salary ranges serve as a general guideline.
