JOB GOAL:
Working knowledge of the proper method of serving foods and the care of tableware, glassware, silver and kitchen appliances; working knowledge of modern cleaning methods and the use of cleaning supplies and appliances; ability to follow simple oral and written directions; physical condition commensurate with the demands of the position. To serve the students attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and friendliness.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Keeps abreast of rules and regulations in regard to food service and assures district compliance.
2. Assists in the preparation of food portions and prepares the cafeteria serving counter.
3. Helps to prepare vegetables and meats;
4. Makes sandwiches, desserts, and salads;
5. Serves food from steam tables in cafeteria-type dining hall;
6. Serves students and staff from the cafeteria counter.
7. Responsible for point of sale cashier duties including maintaining a balanced register with proper accounting procedures.
8. Removes used dishes and assists in the cleaning of counters, tables, chairs, serving tables, furnishings in the dining area, and other equipment;
9. Washes and dries dishes;
10. Maintains the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary fashion.
11. Performs related duties as required including duties at special meal functions.
12. Completes other tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director
13. Assists with inventory and putting away stock orders.
