Special Education Teacher (Severe) Grades 9-12

TITLE: TEACHER OF STUDENTS WITH SEVERE DISABILITIES

REPORTS TO: PRINCIPAL OF NANTUCKET HIGH SCHOOL

JOB SUMMARY: To provide support to the instructional process with specific responsibility for facilitating learning for special education students; instructing, assessing, and program planning for students with a primary disability of autism, moderate to severe intellectual disabilities and multiple disabilities; monitoring and evaluating student progress and behavior; researching, obtaining, and providing instructional materials for special education services; serving as a resource for students, parents, and District personnel; working within a pullout environment or within a self-contained classroom.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Hold a valid license granted by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Teacher of Students with Severe Disabilities.

Bachelor's Degree in Special Education; Masters Degree preferred

Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
