The School District of Waukesha is seeking a highly qualified Math Teacher to join our Butler Middle School Math and Quest Team for the 2024-2025 school year.

The goal of this position is to engage 7th and 8th grade students in rigorous mathematical learning through accountable talk and high level problem solving. The ideal candidate will have expertise in math, experience using data and assessments to modify instruction, comfort with Tier 2 math intervention work and a passion for helping students succeed!
Candidates are expected to:
  • Desire to teach in an urban and/or culturally & linguistically diverse setting.
  • Believe ALL students can learn, think, and communicate meaningfully regardless of differing ability levels.
  • Collaborate with peers in Professional Learning Communities.
  • Build positive relationships with children, regularly communicate with parents and proactively manage student behavior.
  • Implement evidence-based strategies to close gaps in learning and help students keep up with current math courses.
  • Possess an unwavering belief and drive for all students to develop the capacity and skills to be community, college and career ready.
Ideal candidates will bring:
  • a knowledge of assessment literacy and balanced assessment
  • three or more years of successful middle school math teaching experience
  • strong oral and written communication skills
  • the ability to develop and maintain cooperative relationships with administrators, teachers, and staff
  • the desire to work hard and work collaboratively
  • the desire to grow professionally and respond to regular feedback
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in education or a related field from an accredited four-year college/university; Master's degree preferred
