PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for training and assisting with the integration of technology into the teaching and learning process. In addition, this position works closely with teachers on curriculum instructional delivery using a variety of tools. This position will perform training needs assessments, design, and deliver educational technology curriculum for improving the effective use of technology within the learning environment.

WORK DAYS: 200

REQUIREMENTS:
1. Education Level: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university Preferred : Master's Degree in Instructional Technology or related field.

2. Experience, Skill, and Certification:
  • Valid Professional Georgia teaching certification
  • Three or more years of successful teaching experience
  • Skill in integrating technology with curriculum
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze student data and apply learning theory and pedagogy techniques to improve student learning
  • Proven experience with e-learning platforms
  • Proven experience in designing multiple training events
  • Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory and learning principles
  • Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods, tools and techniques
  • Familiarity with talent management and succession planning
  • Ability to conduct cost-benefit analysis and calculate training ROI
  • Sound decision making and organizational skills
  • Ability to present complex information to a variety of audiences
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  1. Works collaboratively with teachers, other instructional staff, administrators, community members, and any other relevant service providers to improve student achievement.
  2. Develops, delivers and facilitates high quality professional development based on needs determined through analysis of data at the school, working with teachers (in teams or individually) to refine their knowledge and skills and meet identified needs.
  3. Works collaboratively with individuals or groups of teachers to integrate technology into instruction.
  4. Works with project teams to design and launch e-learning content.
  5. Focuses on integration, professional development, and support programs at the building and district level to improve teaching and learning though the use of technology, including all e-Learning platforms.
  6. Disseminates information regarding technology resources, emerging technologies, best practices using technology, and professional development opportunities.
  7. Supports implementation of the national, state, and district technology plan.
  8. Researches use of new technologies (hardware and software) for teaching and learning.
  9. Identifies trends in software, curriculum, teaching strategies, and other educational areas.
  10. Identify training needs by evaluating strengths and weaknesses.
  11. Build annual training program and prepare teaching plans, and develop handouts, instructional materials, aids and manuals as needed.
  12. Direct structured learning experiences and monitor their quality results.
  13. Acclimate new hires to the educational technology initiatives and conduct orientation sessions.
  14. Deliver training courses throughout the year.
  15. Assess training effectiveness to ensure incorporation of taught skills and techniques into employees work behavior.
  16. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 200 days. Salary will be determined based on level of certification and allowable experience. Exempt.

CLASSROOM Employees in this category spend at least most of the workday in a typical classroom or related educational environment. There will be prolonged periods of standing or walking, and there may be frequent bending, stooping, or stretching. There are occasions that require the lifting or pulling of equipment or supplies. Reading, listening, writing, and speaking are requirements. There are few exceptional physical or sensory demands, but there may be occasions that require the lifting or restraint of a student.

Must have valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation due to frequent travel between school locations.
