Full Time Position: (1.0 FTE)

Position Summary: Provides a full range of administrative support for JSD online and local data system services to the office of Data and Accountability in the department of Teaching and Learning Support.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required to satisfactorily perform the essential duties and responsibilities. Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be:
  • High School diploma.
  • Five years prior data technician experience.
  • Three years in a school district preferred.

Ability to:
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • Manage the distribution of work assigned to data technicians.
  • Operate a variety of modern office equipment including a personal computer and related software.
  • Provide training to District personnel charged with input of assessment data.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with other people.

Knowledge of:
  • Statistical analysis, educational research, and relational databases.
  • Graphic and other visual displays.
  • Personal computer operating systems.
  • Principles of training and adult education.
  • Database design software, i.e. FileMakerPro.(FMP), PowerSchool, Access, SQL.

Typical Job duties include:
  • Providing technical leadership in database analysis.
  • Preparing reports by gathering and organizing data from a variety of sources.
  • Graphic and other visual displays.
  • Maintaining a variety of electronic systems, files, records and logs including financial and statistical data.

Compensation: This is a full-time 12-month position, working 37.5 hours per week, with a starting salary of $28.86 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off.

Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
