Executive Director, Activities and Student Athletics

Provides executive leadership directing a large broad-based multi-sectioned office responsible for student activities and athletic programs; develops, manages, supervises, evaluates, and modifies all activities, programs, projects, personnel, and physical and fiscal resources of the office; provides support to the chief with decision-making responsibilities for operational functions within the department; is responsible and accountable for strategic planning and outcomes.

Qualifications:
Required
  • Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a master's degree in education, administration, or a related field.
  • Eight (8) years of progressively more responsible experience in teaching and/or administration and supervision, some of which shall have been in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
  • Advanced degree(s) beyond minimum degree requirements in a relevant field may be considered for some experience.
  • Postgraduate educational license with endorsement(s) designated as appropriate to the assignment.
  • Administration and supervision Prek-12 endorsement.
  • Knowledge of the principles, practices, methods, functions, and current trends of administration of the office and related to student activities and athletics.
  • Ability to manage fiscal, physical, and human resources to successfully carry out the function and programs of the office.
  • Ability to supervise, evaluate, and lead.
  • Ability to facilitate meetings and/or present information to groups.
  • Ability to establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with personnel assigned to schools, other departments, public entities, and the community.
  • Proficiency in the use of technology and data compilation, analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
