*4th Grade Teacher

This is a 10-month contracted position starting August 1, 2024 - May 23, 2025, and is an Exempt job classification. Below are some basic job responsibilities.  Pay is based on degree and years of experience.

· Traveling to student’s classroom to instruct an average of 16-21 students, depending on grade.

· Implement instructional activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.

· Provide a positive environment in which students are encouraged to be actively engaged in the learning process.

· Facilitate activities and projects that incorporate communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking.

· Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.

· Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with students, parents, and other professionals on a regular basis.

· Collaborate with peers to enhance the instructional environment.

· Model professional and ethical standards when dealing with students, parents, peers, and community.

· Participate in training and professional development

· Act in a professional and ethical manner at all times and comply with school policies,

procedures, and expectations.

· Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor.

· Positive management of the learning environment

· Maintaining a healthy learning environment for the students in both the classroom as well as instruction

· Monitoring and management of students’ behavior, including appropriate enforcement of student behavior rules

· Following professional practices consistent with school policies in working with students, students’ records, parents and colleagues

· Providing adequate information, plans and materials for substitute teachers

· Maintaining accurate, complete and appropriate records and files

· Demonstrating accurate, up-to-date knowledge of content

· Showing support and high esteem for School at all times

· Complying with conditions as stated in employee agreement and handbook


  • Bachelor’s degree in education required
  • Teaching experience, preferably in an independent school setting
  • Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Must work well individually and as part of a small team
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or other similar programs
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time while instructing; excellent hearing abilities; physical ability to transport students from one area of a building/campus to another; physical ability to move into different learning spaces.
