Job Description
As a Talent Manager, you will play a vital role in the recruitment, retention, and development of talented educators and staff who share our vision of providing a world-class education to our students. You will work closely with the Human Resources Department and school leadership to attract, hire, and support a diverse and highly qualified team. This position will focus on talent acquisition, onboarding, and fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Talent Acquisition
- Develop and implement recruitment strategies to attract top-tier educators and staff.
- Spearhead targeted recruitment for teachers and non-instructional staff through participation in recruiting events, job fairs, networking, external partnerships, and leveraging the schools talent network.
- Post job openings on various platforms and networks to reach a broad pool of qualified candidates.
- Manage all online recruitment platforms, including Greenhouse and external Job Boards, coordinating every aspect of the hiring process.
- Ensure a high-quality candidate experience marked by transparency, prompt follow-up, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the recruitment process.
- Develop strong systems for screening resumes, conducting initial interviews, coordinating interview schedules and maintaining an up-to-date on-line tracking system.
- Develop and maintain orientation materials and resources for new staff members.
- Ensure open roles are filled in a timely manner, either through direct action, collaboration with hiring managers.
- Develop strategy for leveraging social media as a tool to support outreach and cultivation.
On-Boarding
- Conduct and document thorough reference checks.
- Coordinate with our Executive Director to make offers.
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring a smooth transition into the school community.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to host monthly school-wide and departmental team building opportunities.
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
Employee Engagement and Retention
- Collaborate with school leadership to develop and implement initiatives that enhance employee satisfaction, engagement, and retention.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and make recommendations for improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, required
- At least 3-5 years of experience in talent strategy with expertise in recruitment and selection
- Experience working in urban education and NYC charter schools
- Commitment to the school's mission and values.
- Experience with the recruiting and selection of teachers and other school employees highly preferred
- Demonstrate an ability to build rapport quickly, establishing and maintaining productive and trust-based relationships with a variety of individuals across diverse groups within the organization
- Exhibit exceptional writing ability and oral communication skills, essential for crafting compelling job descriptions, conducting interviews, and ensuring transparent and effective communication with candidates.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment; flexible, able to work both autonomously and collaboratively effectively
- Ability to manage time and set priorities, consistently meet deadlines
- Places a high value on delivering quality internal and external focused customer service
- Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time 12 -month position. The regular hours and workdays are Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:00pm in addition to any special events to which all staff are expected to attend.
Salary Range:
$65K - $80K
