Job Description:
Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union is seeking a passionate and dynamic Hazing, Harassment & Bullying/Restorative Justice Coordinator. The Coordinator is responsible for carrying out the District's investigative and prevention duties related to Hazing, Harassment, & Bullying to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment. The Coordinator will also facilitate efforts to support and implement best practices in restorative justice that promote a positive school culture and climate. This position's work schedule follows the school calendar and will be supported by the Administrative Support Specialist.

Under direction of the Director of Student Support Administration, the Coordinator will work with students, staff, administrators, and families both directly and indirectly. Serving as a crucial partner to all stakeholders across the district, the Coordinator's unique role is an ideal opportunity for a collaborative and strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and communication skills to contribute to the effective operations of every school. The successful candidate should possess the knowledge and skills needed to implement a comprehensive HHB and Restorative Justice program in which every child thrives with an eye to a fair and impartial process. Candidates should understand Vermont State Law 16 V.S.A. § 570 and will be able to implement processes and procedures that meet all statutory rules and regulations.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree Preferences: Holds or is eligible to hold a Vermont Teaching License with appropriate endorsement is preferred. At least one (1) year of previous experience within a school setting is preferred.


The Bennington-Rutland Supervisory Union (BRSU) is a public school system located in southwestern Vermont. The BRSU includes school districts in four Vermont counties and three Vermont technical center regions. The BRSU is the second largest Vermont supervisory union with a total area of approximately 460 square miles. In 2018, BRSU districts have a total combined enrollment of 2,200 students.

A unique feature of the BRSU is that none of its districts operates a high school. All BRSU districts have high school choice. BRSU districts send students to over 30 public and independent high schools with a large number of BRSU students choosing to attend Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, VT.
