The Westwood Regional Board of Education in Bergen County, New Jersey is looking for an exceptional educational leader to build on our tradition of academic excellence and continue to provide the Cardinals with rich and diverse learning opportunities.

Our District serves approximately 2800 PreK-grade twelve students in the charming suburban communities of Westwood and the Township of Washington, located about 15 miles northwest of midtown Manhattan. Our District comprises four neighborhood elementary schools, a middle school for grades 6-8, and a comprehensive high school. We employ a staff of ~450 with 24 district-level administrators, with a budget of over $70m. Nearly ninety percent of our graduates advance to post-secondary education.

Westwood Regional is proud of the experiences we offer our students. WWRSD has been designated one of the Best Communities for Music Education, and we boast a top-placing STEM league, as well as an Athletic Decathlon Team. Our District-wide cultural climate focuses on social-emotional learning and building meaningful relationships in order to allow students to succeed academically, and to prepare them to exercise intelligent control of their future. We prioritize purposeful professional development for our dedicated educators, and our valued Parent School Organizations provide further enrichment for students in all schools. Pupils in every school have a wide variety of extra-curricular clubs, activities, and sports programs in which they can participate.

The successful candidate in our Superintendent search will be an excellent communicator with our community and staff, who can elevate student performance in all schools. We are looking for candidates who are skilled in curriculum development, budgeting and finance, and building and sustaining a healthy culture and climate.

NJ School Administrator Certificate or CE is required. Successful experience of 5 years or more as a school principal or in a district-level administrative position is required; experience as Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent preferred. Five years teaching experience required, ten years teaching experience strongly preferred. We strongly desire K-12 district experience; doctoral degree preferred.
