FAME Afterschool Arts Academy High School Intern

  1. Assist Coordinator in overseeing Intra-district FAME Afterschool Arts Academy for the Bridgeport School District.
  2. Serve as a conduit between the FAME Afterschool Arts Academy and the community, including public relations and the promotion of the District's Afterschool Arts Academy.
  3. When necessary, assume responsibility or assist with the organization and scheduling of performances and shows.
  4. Assist in facilitating scheduling of necessary personnel as required to host arts events.
  5. Maintains ongoing communications with Director of Performing and Visual Arts and Harding High School Administration and FAME Coordinator.
  6. Maintains inventory and supplies for longevity of use.
  7. Ensures that proper student records are kept and maintained.
  8. Ensures that accurate data and records are kept and maintained.
  9. Promotes goodwill and public relations among parents, teaching artists and District Administrators.
  10. Act as liaison between Bridgeport Public Schools and outside program providers.
  11. Perform all other duties, as assigned by the Director of Performing and Visual Arts, Harding Administrative Team, Superintendent or Superintendent's Designee and FAME Coordinator

  2. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  3. Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work with teachers, administrators, parents, community groups and local youth organizations.
  5. Demonstrated proficiency in the use of technology for communication and delivery of instruction.
  6. Evidence of diplomacy, flexibility, creativity, and perseverance
  7. Willingness to learn new skills.
  8. Currently enrolled in Bridgeport Public Schools.

  • Ability to relate to culturally diverse parents and students
  • Successful experience and knowledge of Arts curricula
  • Successful experience of data collection and organization
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills

Pay Rate: $16.00/Hour

Hours: 2:45 - 4:45 M-Th (Not on the district ½ day Wednesdays)
