Responsibilities

1. Provide small group instruction for three, four, and five year olds who have substantial special needs that can be met within a public school program.

2. Design prescriptive language, visual, auditory, and fine motor activities.

3. Design classroom management techniques for individuals and small groups.

4. Maintain close communication with parents and with specialists.
5. Complete diagnostic testing (formal/informal) as required.

6. Prepare semi-annual reports, annual review narratives, and individualized educational plans for pupils in the program.

7. Attend special needs staff meetings and designated school staff meetings.

7. Submit budget requests, inventory data, and required status reports as requested.

Qualifications

1. Massachusetts certification in Early Childhood Education and Teacher of Moderate Disabilities PK-8

2. Experience teaching young children with language and/or developmental delays, behavioral disorders, pervasive developmental delays.

3. Experience in specific training in speech and language development and behavior management preferred.

4. Superior diagnostic and communication skills.

5. Masters Degree required.
