Hebrew Public Charter Schools for Global Citizens . Hebrew Public is a national network of diverse-by-design public charter schools that teach children of all backgrounds to become productive global citizens. Our schools are models of racial and economic integration, academic excellence, and foreign language learning.

Hebrew Public's network currently contains thirteen schools in four states and the District of Columbia, serving more than 2,500 students. In New York City, we serve as the Charter Management Organization for schools in Brooklyn and Harlem.

The network's first school in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Hebrew Public, opened in 2019, serving 156 students in kindergarten and 1st grade. The school will serve 470 students in grades K to 5th in the 2023-24 school year and will add a grade level each year until it ultimately serves grades K to 8 in the 2026-27 school year. PHP provides students with a sophisticated core curriculum in English Language Arts, mathematics, Modern Hebrew, the sciences, social studies, art, music, and physical education.

About the Position:

We are seeking a driven Administrative Assistant for the 2023-2024 school year that operates with a high sense of urgency and possesses a strong work ethic. Job Responsibilities:
  • Act as the primary receptionist which includes answering phone calls, electronic communication, sorting mail, and greeting visitors
  • Manage and support our students with health, behavior, and other needs
  • Organize, analyze, and streamline systems and processes for information collection including student records
  • Assist with tracking of school data, including student attendance, behavior, and other achievement/infractions; create systems that support school leaders and families in meeting school culture goals
  • Foster a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment in the Main Office
  • Organize and assist with maintenance of school supply inventory, aesthetics, facilities, and technology support
  • Assist the school operations team with planning and executing school events
  • Assist with school bussing, arrival and dismissal functions
  • Contribute to positive communication and relationship building with parents, the larger school community, and external parties
  • Foster an attitude of cooperation and positive support with all school staff and parents
  • Build strong relationships with staff and families to support students

Qualifications:
  • Attention to detail: Think critically about the details of a task at hand.
  • Strong Communicator: Demonstrated ability of strong written and verbal communications.
  • Flexibility: Ability to adjust expected tasks and schedule to updated priorities
  • Independence: Can work independently, be assertive, and make thoughtful decisions about projects
  • Collaborative: Work with teammates and be responsive to feedback. Willingness to go above and beyond the requirements of the job to be innovative and support the organization

Minimum Requirements:
  • 1 to 2 years of experience in an office environment;
  • Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications;
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish (writing and speaking fluently) is preferable;
  • Experience working with children and/or families; elementary age preferred;

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Salary and benefits will be highly competitive, equitable, and commensurate with experience. The starting salary for this role is $35,000.
