ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Intervention Specialist at Foundation Academy located in Mansfield, Ohio. The Intervention Specialist plans for and supports the educational, behavioral, and social needs of the entire school community with a focus on student eligible for special education and related services.

We manage a network of over 50 charter schools within Ohio and surrounding states. Foundation Academy-Home of the Falcons-is a tuition-free community school serving the Mansfield community. The elementary and middle school's licensed and certified staff is committed to creating a safe learning environment where children develop good character while aspiring to achieve academic excellence. The accredited, college prep curriculum includes instruction in Art, Financial Literacy, Technology, Science and Math Test Preparation, PE, STEM, and Visual Arts. The school also offers College Credit Plus, a dual enrollment program, as well as award-winning Music, Art, and Sports programs such as Jazz Band, Volleyball, Basketball, and Cheerleading. Foundation Academy extends support beyond the classroom to ensure each student thrives academically as well as socially and emotionally. Responsibilities:
- Assists children with special education and related service needs in classrooms and other settings based on the continuum of services
- Acts as a resource for training and implementation of intervention strategies
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and diagnostic assessments for instruction
- Write and implement behavior improvement plans
- Facilitate IEP meetings and informs staff of their responsibilities for each IEP
- Work cooperatively with classroom teachers to assist them with delivery of any accommodations and modifications
- Develop IEP goals and objectives
- Progress monitor and report all IEP goals and objective
- Develop and implements Specially Designed Instruction (SDI)
- Ensure all Special Education timelines and documents comply with Operating Standards and IDEA
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students
- Maintain accurate and complete records of students' progress and development
- Utilize research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction
- Communicate and meet with families regarding the academic and social-emotional growth of their child as well as their IEP progress
- Utilize school approved curricula that reflects the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students
- Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Active and current state Intervention Specialist license
- Bachelor's degree in special education
- High level of comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment based on frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to properly manage confidential information
- Able to supervise students of various ages in different school settings (playground, cafeteria, etc.)
- Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
- Experience working within an urban environment
- Salary based on previous experience and education
