- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or Media Studies, or a closely related field; preference given to those with 3-5 years full-time experience in the field of Public Relations/Communications/Marketing or Media.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and techniques of effective public relations, including graphic design, branding, and digital media outreach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with members of our community, including board members, administrators, teachers and staff, parents, students and community groups
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
- Excellent project management skills
- Broad understanding of traditional and social media platforms, experience in web content writing and design, and social media content creations
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advisor to the Superintendent and Central Office Administrators by providing guidance, strategy, writing and support to shape District communications. You will create, implement, and evaluate a variety of communication strategies in line with the District's Mission, Strategic Plan, and other initiatives.
- Provide subject matter expertise on how best to convey district communication goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with stakeholders for the purpose of building effective communications, enhancing relationships, and ensuring a high quality of customer service to achieve District goals and objectives.
- Coordinate responses to all public information requests for the purpose of ensuring effective communication practices to meet District strategic goals and to provide excellent customer service.
- Act as District spokesperson at the Superintendent's discretion.
- Apply creativity, knowledge of audience expectations, and strategy to develop content that effectively reaches intended stakeholders and reinforces the District mission.
- Coordinate District social media, newsletters and website content.
- Provide public relations support to District organizations including PTAs, Alumni Association, and Dollars for Scholars.
- Administrative salary and benefits as described in the Sweet Home Administrators and Supervisors (SHASA) agreement. Minimum starting salary: $73,610.00
