As a Principal, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education by leading a team of educators within our school campus to achieve student academic excellence and make our charter schools the best place to learn, grow and work. And you will do meaningful work that makes a difference for our educators and students as you:

  • Serve as the administrative official with responsibility for the educators, students, management, and operations of the school. 

  • Help articulate the school’s mission and vision with the aim of ensuring all have a common understanding and are positioned to work cooperatively. 

  • Select and hire educators and support them to be successful in their roles and supervise the implementation of the educational and instructional programs.

  • Maintain high standards of student safety, conduct, and corrective action as necessary while acting as a student advocate to ensure the rights of all students are respected and that all have equal access to the educational opportunities necessary to meet their needs and abilities.

  • Promote effective communication and cooperation among educators, students, parents and the community.

  • Create a safe environment that cultivates learning, engages the interests of the students and educators and allows them to perform at their very best. 

  • Guide others through a variety of leadership activities designed to promote the social, physical and intellectual growth that is needed for success.

  • Master our proven philosophy of education and guide the learning process and educators and students toward the achievement of the goals and celebrate them when they do their best work. 

  • Encourage educators and students to uphold our values and model mature behavior and good character throughout their lives.

 

Meet the qualifications that set you up for success

  • Having a master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or closely related field.

  • Holding a state department of education principal preK-12 administrative certification in the state the position is located in. 

  • Having four years of proven, successful experience as a classroom teacher with qualified content expertise.

  • Having three years of supervisory/leadership experience. 

  • Having knowledge of principles/practices of school administration.

  • Holding a current IVP level one fingerprint clearance card and passing a criminal history background check.

  • Creating positive, powerful energy that fuels our school spirit. Filling our campuses with exceptional students and diverse talent. Modeling our values, inspiring others and having fun. Solving matters with composure, integrity and compassion. Immersing yourself in significant connections with our students, parents, and fellow educators. Having a passion for teaching others, helping others learn, and celebrating their success. Participating in events outside of normal hours and being active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.

As an Assistant Principal, you will have the opportunity to change lives through education as you assist the Principal to fulfill his/her chief responsibility of leading a team of educators within our school campus to achieve student academic excellence and make our charter schools the best place to learn, grow and work. And you will do meaningful work that makes a difference for our educators and students as you:

  • Assist in the overall administration of the school, with a strong commitment to the activities and operations associated with students, teachers, and parents, with other specific duties as assigned by the principal.

  • Assist with planning and implementation of school level standardized testing, junior high, athletics, community education, EL  and other programs as needed.

  • Hire, train, develop, and appraise teaching staff effectively.  Develops teaching staff to improve individual learning environment techniques.

 

The position is federally funded. The continuation of this position will be revisited annually based upon available funding.

 

Meet the qualifications that set you up for success 

  • Holding a master’s degree in education and working toward an administrative certificate. Principal certification is preferred.

  • Three or more years of teaching experience in a variety of grade levels is preferred.

Solving matters with composure, integrity and compassion. Immersing yourself in significant connections with our students, parents, and fellow educators. Having a passion for teaching others, helping others learn, and celebrating their success. Participating in events outside of normal hours. 

  • Being active in the role when light lifting, sitting, standing, moving throughout the campus and traveling to other campuses as required.

  • Depending on the state to which you are applying, background check requirements may vary. Including but not limited to state and national criminal history background check.
