IN-PERSON SECONDARY HIGH SCHOOL EAS SUMMER SCHOOL TEACHERS
Waterbury Arts Magnet School
Grade 9-12 Certification required in the following areas:
-ELA (English 9, English 10, English 11, English 12)
-Math (Algebra 1, Algebra II, Geometry)
-Science (Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, Forensics, Environmental Science)
-History (U.S. History, Civics, World History, World Civilization)
-World Language (Spanish I, Spanish II)
-Physical Education (Healthy Living, Lifetime Fitness)
Dates of Classes:
July 10, 2023 - August 4, 2023 (Mon-Fri)
Teacher Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Job Description (see attached for full job description):
*Teachers must know or have a willingness to learn the Edgenuity Program.
*There will be one mandatory virtual PD prior to the commencement of Summer School and one mandatory PD during the summer session (approximately 3 hours - dates and times to be determined).
* Teachers will be in a blended learning environment using the Edgenuity Program during the entire session or Develop a 20-day academic instructional plan (Spanish 1 and 2 only).
*Teachers must be thoroughly familiar with a variety of Tier 1 interventions.
*Work collaboratively with Summer School Staff.
*Maintain classroom attendance.
*Evaluate students including a Final Exam to be held on the last day of Summer School.
*Complete other tasks assigned by the Secondary Summer School Coordinator.
Certification :
Applicants must have appropriate certification.
Final Hiring will be based on enrollment.
Salary: per WTA Contract

Employees appointed to positions in this class must have adequate physical strength, stamina, physical agility and visual and auditory acuity and must maintain such physical fitness as to be able to perform the duties of the class. A physical examination may be required.
